The Mission
STEAM Education for Everyone
At Think Tank, our journey was sparked by a collective vision among educators, school administrators, and parents who shared a background in private education within Los Angeles. In those privileged environments, we witnessed the transformative power of cutting-edge STEAM labs and resources, shaping a new era of learning.
Transitioning into public education, we couldn't ignore the stark disparities. Many students lacked access to the tools and curriculum necessary for modern education, let alone mentors to guide them through these hands-on courses. We saw an opportunity to bridge this gap, to equip students with the problem-solving abilities, creativity, and innovation crucial for tomorrow's workforce.
Our lead instructor, Phil Cannella, spearheaded the culmination of our dream into reality. In March 2024, a barebones trailer measuring 24 ft by 8 ft arrived, offering nothing but plywood. In just a few weeks, it was transformed into a mobile STEAM lab, fully self-sufficient, powered by clean energy and capable of accommodating up to 30 students.
Here at ThinkTank, we reject the notion that learning is confined by age. We welcome individuals of all ages and skill levels, offering a diverse array of courses, from basic woodworking to electronic circuits and robotics, to advanced engineering and design. Our mission is simple: to empower students to turn their imagination into tangible reality.
